    The Joys Of Airstream Living

Full-time travel comes with many questions from the naysayers. How are you going to make a living? Why are you going to leave your home for an extended period of time? What will people think of you? Aren’t you going to be a hippy? Fortunately, most people have never developed a sophisticated understanding of what full-time RV travel actually means. It means something different for each person who does it. There is no simple explanation as to why people decide to do this. It’s different for everybody. But I wanted to take a few moments to explain why we find traveling in the Airstream to be so fascinating and fun.…

    Mammoth Cave: Review

There’s a huge hole in the earth in rural Kentucky. And we went into it. I’ve been to Ruby Falls in Chattanooga, Tennessee, but this one tops the cake. Mammoth Cave National Park is one of those truly fascinating things that you just never hear a lot about, but it really is a must see attraction that has been an attraction for over two hundred years.

How We Make Money On The Road (and how we stay connected)

It’s the most common question . . . “so, how do you guys make money?” We’ve gotten every response under the sun, from “oh you must have inherited money” to “you are just bums”. Well, I’m here to tell you how neither one of those things are true! We both work hard. Being connected to the internet is a must at almost all times, which does sometimes spoil the times when we really just want to go somewhere beautiful and be disconnected for a week. But, alas, we must work.

    We’re Going To Yellowstone!

Alex and I have been full-timing in the Airstream for two months. We’ve seen so much in such a short amount of time. We left South Carolina in late May and visited the Shenandoah Valley and Pennsylvania country. We spent our one year wedding anniversary in Williamsburg, Virginia (and ate the best steak on the planet at a place called Opus 9. THE BEST STEAK… EVER!!) We then ventured through the Deep South, visiting friends in Alabama and Mississippi (two states that, by the way, are seriously underrated as prime RV destinations. Want to know more about Deep South camping? Let us know.) Most recently, we visited Nashville, Tennessee, spent…

Full-Time Airstream Living: The First Days

Alex and I made the plunge, like, 5 days ago. Now, I know many bloggers write first impression posts, including lots of negative ideas about things they didn’t expect. And though we too have experienced our own challenges over the past several days, let me assure you of something, dear reader: the benefits ALWAYS outweigh the shortcomings. Each choice a person makes comes with its ups and downs. Our decision to live in an Airstream is certainly no exception. So let me share with you some things that we have gone through since we left South Carolina almost a week ago.

Must-Haves When Travelling With A Dog (top 5)

If you haven’t met our precious Scarlett yet, let me introduce you. She’s a 50 pound, 7 month old Chocolate Lab. When we decided that we wanted to full-time in October of 2016, we also decided that it would be a good time to go ahead and get our new puppy…so that she wasn’t so much of a puppy anymore. Well, she’s still very much a puppy, but we are so happy to have her. She’s been an amazing additon to the family and we couldn’t imagine hitting the road without her. But, having her brings on a whole ‘nother set of things to figure out when preparing to hit…

    Airstream Remodel: The Reveal

We did it! Except for a few minor things, like adding trim and some minor paint touch-ups, our Airstream remodel is FINISHED!!!!!! After 6 months of a lot of blood, sweat and tears (quite literally), we turned our Airstream into a home. From our solid oak front dinette table to our galvanized bathtub and our wood floors, we turned her into something quite unique…something that is unlike many other Airstreams, and something that is completely different than what comes out of the factory. Keep scrolling for our full video tour!

    So…You Think You Can’t Fulltime?

Taking the plunge to live fulltime in an Airstream is, shall we say, a big decision. But it can be done! Have you been thinking about it, but just can’t find the perfect moment to actually make it happen? Guess what: there is no perfect moment. If you wait for that, your dreams of fulltime travel will never happen. Most people who make fulltime travel their lifestyle didn’t have that perfect moment either. So let’s address some typical concerns:

What is Transformational Travel? A Christian’s Perspective.

I recently ran across an article that Airstream posted in their social media outlets. It was about something called “transformational travel,” a new term to me, but one that makes a lot of sense. According to my reading, this type of travel happens when thoughtful persons go from place to place in an attempt to better understand who they are, get new perspectives on life, and gain far more than a cool experience. These people are looking to renew the soul, to create for themselves a renaissance of culture.
