Glamping has been taking the world by storm for a while and continues to gain steam! People want to enjoy nature, but don’t necessarily want to rough it. We have found some of the greatest glamping locations in the U.S. and can’t wait to tell you all about them!

Conestoga Ranch-Garden City, UT

Did you grow up playing The Oregon Trail at school and wonder what it would be like to stay in your own covered wagon? This glamping ranch gives you all of the good parts without losing anyone in your group to typhoid fever! This one-of-a-kind ranch was named USA Today’s top Glamping Spot for 2022. 

You can choose from tents or covered wagons for a traditional ranch camping feel. Add the glamour of hand-picking your top-notch amenities when making your reservations. The wagons can even be moved around if you reserve with a group! You get the feeling of what it might have been like in the early days, but with all of 2022’s luxuries! 

After you are well-rested from a night in your tent or wagon, explore Bear Lake. Its caves, hiking trails, water sports, horseback riding, and beaches have been referred to as the “Caribbean of the Rockies” due to their bright blue waters and white sand beaches!

Collective Yellowstone-Big Sky, MT

Put the phones away and enjoy some time playing board games, horseshoes, and sand volleyball, or take some time to soak in all of nature by getting in a yoga session in the refurbished barn. 

If you want to explore beyond your five-acre retreat there are state parks and trailers nearby as well as local wineries showcasing the area’s finest flavors.

Cedar Ridge Ranch-Carbondale, CO

The Cedar Ridge Ranch offers an abundance of options to fit anyone’s glamping needs. Accommodations include a cabin, an Out of Africa-themed Safari Tent, A Star Gazer Tent, a Large Yurt, or one called “The Farmhouse”. You may even find yourself going back more than once so you can experience all of the reasons they are one of the greatest glamping locations in the U.S.! 

The ranch is family-run and includes activities such as ranch tours, Alpaca yoga, fiber felting classes, hiking trails for the summer months, and snow-shoe and skiing activities in the winter, as well as horseback riding lessons. 

Situated between Carbondale and Glenwood you are far enough away that you get the peaceful, secluded space that you need but are also able to explore great restaurants, breweries, and local art districts. 

Kimberly Creek Retreat-Ashland, NE

Nebraska might not be where most people think would be a great glamping retreat but Kimberly Creek has found a way to show off the natural beauty in the midwest! The retreat sits on 20 acres of land and is surrounded by recreation areas, museums, historical sites, and State Parks. 

They offer a variety of different glamping options. Depending on the season and your to-do list for your glamping adventure will help you decide which option works best for you. There are cabins and domes, some offer outside private hot tubs and fire pits and others offer indoor fireplaces. The perfect setting either way for some s’mores and a good book! 

If you want to have everything taken care of for you including the food they offer options that include charcuterie boards, foil meal options, deluxe s’more packages, breakfast options, and snack packages. You can also bring your own simple foods and prepare them for a more traditional camping feel. 

If you aren’t sure either of those is for you there are local restaurants and wineries close by as well. 

Beaver Island Retreat-Beaver Island, MI

Beaver Island Retreat will take you back to your childhood days when you went to youth camp except you now get all of the luxuries of being an adult, including private sleeping quarters, access to wine, and private bathhouses. 

The tents each come with their own custom furniture, a queen bed, a private portico, an outside fire pit, and a hammock to lay back and take in the natural beauty of the island. When you need to refill your tent with linens or cooking pots you can go up to the community kitchen and laundry area and find everything you will need. There is also a large pavilion you can go and mingle with other guests and play some board games.  

The water brings a host of fun water activities to enjoy. A few favorites include jet skis, pontoons, skiing, kayaking, fishing, scuba diving, and sunset cruises. If you prefer to keep your feet on dry land you can hit one of the biking trails, take in a day of golfing or take an Island Tour.

Greatest Glamping Locations in the Southeast

Cherry Blossom Yurt on Look Mountain-Rising Fawn, GA

Offering two yurts overlooking a bluff of trees the Cherry Blossom Yurt offers a great opportunity to see a variety of stars with the feel of camping in your backyard but no sleeping bag or uncomfortable backache the next day! 

Each yurt has its own kitchen, stove, full-size refrigerator/freezer, full bath with shower, king-sized bed, oversized deck, and an outdoor eating area so that you can soak in all of the nature around you. This isn’t the most private of the glamping spots as there is another yurt next to you as well as the owner’s home, but it does offer a great glamping option if you’re in the area. 

You can also explore restaurants in Chattanooga, which is only 30 minutes away, as well as Cloudland Canyon and Lookout Mountain Hang Gliding. 

Westgate River Ranch-Lake Wales, FL

If you’re looking for a taste of the wild west, you actually need to head south! Westgate River Ranch sits on over 1,700 acres of land about an hour south of Orlando. It is an authentic dude ranch that hosts a rodeo every Saturday night and the activities available are too long to list! 

With camping accommodations ranging from Conestoga wagons, to luxury and basic tents, lodge suites and cabins, Saddle Club Rail Cars, Private Cottages, and Teepees, you can even bring your own tent or RV! The teepees are a super unique option for glamping that really brings in a different type of experience.

This would be a great glamping spot if you want to be able to do a lot of things! A few of the options are airboat and swamp buggy rides, River Queen Cruise, Horseback Riding, an Escape Room, Trap/Skeet Shooting, Petting Farm, Fishing, Mini Golf, and more! With so many activities and such great accommodations, it’s no wonder this is one of the greatest glamping locations in the U.S.!

The Destination-Dadeville, AL

The Destination is a glamping adventure that is situated on 80 acres next to Lake Martin in Alabama. The owners have already established a successful glamping business in Nashville and are now expanding!

There are 4 Safari tents, two smaller and two larger, that can accommodate anywhere from 4-6 guests, or you can choose to have an entire tent to yourself! The tents also include a private deck and hot tub which would be a great place to soak in the nature around you as the sun goes down. 

The Destination hosts different events throughout the year to include members of the community including football games, Fourth of July Fireworks Shows, and more! This would make a great getaway experience any time of the year!

Greatest Glamping Locations in the Northeast

Naturluxe & Stars-Watkins Glen, NY

Natruluze & Stars resort offers a unique selection of tents for glamping, as well as something that none of the others have had: close proximity to Watkins Glen International Racetrack. This will give you a different sound to listen to during the afternoons on certain days. 

Different styles of tents are situated around a gravel circle with a firepit in the middle. The Bell Tents are located in an open field and the Platform Tents can be found in the woods along a mulch trail path. When booking your stay, keep in mind the level of privacy you are looking for with the different options available. 

There are community bathhouses for all of the tents with individual bathrooms and outdoor showers. With its 42 acres of land and the ability to quickly get to Watkins Glen State Park, this glamping adventure has endless possibilities! 

Sandy Pines Campground-Kennebunkport, ME

Sandy Pines Campground offers some of the most unique and fun glamping options on our list. With uniquely themed and decorated tents, you are bound to find the perfect getaway option! 

On top of that, they also offer Unique Couples Retreats that include Fannie (a turquoise trailer), Airstreams, Conestoga Wagon, a Glass House, and a Shepherd’s Hut. There are no kids or pets allowed at the couples retreats to make sure that all guests are able to experience the tranquility they are searching for. 

If that wasn’t enough, they also offer Couple and Family Cottages as well as Hideaway Huts! These are simply A-frames that allow you to truly experience nature. 

With many activities surrounding Sandy Pines, you are bound to find plenty to do when you aren’t relaxing in the top-notch accommodations. You can pick up supplies at the Grand Lodge or visit Goose Rocks Beach for the day. Try your hand at stand-up paddleboarding or kayaking; take part in some lawn games, or enjoy a live band on Saturday evening! 

Terramor-Bar Harbor, ME

Terramor is an amazing glamping destination where you can soak up the beauty of nature while relaxing on your screened-in porch or out by the fire. Spread out over a 60-acre property on Mount Desert Island, you can easily access Acadia National Park and downtown Bar Harbor, ME. 

There are over 64 tents on the property offering various sizes and degrees of privacy. If you are coming as a group and want a more community feel there are spots designed for that. If you are looking for a more secluded and private get-a-way, there are tents you can’t drive to. This ensures a peaceful space for everyone. 

There are many activities to enjoy on the property including live music, a grand lodge,  a pool, and botany lectures. If you want a more nature-inspired itinerary, try out the biking or hiking trails, kayaking, or stargazing through the telescopes. Or, bring a stack of books and don’t leave your tent! All styles come with their own attached bathroom! No matter how you choose to enjoy your stay, this is one of the greatest glamping locations in the U.S.!

Glamping Locations In Alaska and Hawaii

Borealis Basecamp-Fairbanks, AK

If you have ever wanted to experience Alaska but weren’t sure how this glamping experience is the way to go! With an expansive basecamp of 100 acres, you will definitely get to see much of what living in Alaska is like, except with the luxuries that glamping provides of course! 

Stay in a custom-designed igloo that has a clear ceiling so you can lay in bed at night and watch the beautiful light show that the aurora borealis brings! While the igloos aren’t large enough to include cooking facilities inside they do offer a comfortable bed and bathroom, and there is a restaurant on-site for meals. 

The basecamp also offers several different Alaskan experiences that you definitely won’t find anywhere else including reindeer meet-and-greets, a helicopter day tour, snowmachine or UTV treks, and even dog-sledding adventures! 

Hawaii Island Retreat-Kapaau, HI

The Hawaii Island Retreat does have an actual lodge, but if glamping is what you’re looking for take a stay in one of their glamping yurts located in a secluded part of the property by a peaceful infinity pool. 

Each yurt offers its own bathroom and sinks along with a comfortable bed, and the shared shower houses are just a quick walk away. 

After a peaceful night of sleep, you can get ready and head over to the main lodge and take in a spa day with several different treatments to choose from where they blend nature and holistic traditions to have you relaxed and refreshed in no time. 

If you are wanting to learn more about the island and its culture you can also take part in a wide array of classes including yoga & meditation, legends & lore, breathwork, and sacred hula among others. The offerings are completely unique to Hawaii and the culture of being one with nature, and who wouldn’t want to be when you are in such a beautiful place!
