Equipment

  • Measuring cup
  • Large skillet
  • Cutting board
  • Knife
  • Casserole dish

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ½ medium onion diced
  • Salt and pepper
  • 15 oz sloppy joe sauce
  • 16.3 oz can refrigerated biscuits we used Grands Homestyle
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese shredded

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9x13 inch casserole dish, and set aside.
  • Dice the onion.
  • In a large skillet, add the ground beef, diced onion and sprinkle the meat with salt and pepper. Cook the meat over medium heat, breaking it apart as it cooks, until no longer pink. Drain any grease.
  • While the meat is cooking, cut the biscuits into quarters and toss in a bowl with 1 cup of the cheese.
  • Once the meat is done, stir in the sloppy joe sauce. Then fold in the cheesy biscuits.
  • Add the mixture into the greased casserole dish in an even layer, then top with the remaining 1 cup of cheese.
  • Transfer the casserole dish to the oven and bake for 30 minutes.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven at 325 degrees to keep the biscuits from getting rubbery, or microwave in 30-second intervals if you're in a hurry.
